Lark's Quest (Deeds of the Ariane, volumes 1-3)

Deeds of the Ariane: The First Three Novellas in One Volume - Barbara Cool Lee I received a paperback edition of this book from the author for me to read in exchange for an honest review.I thought that it was great! If I could give it a 4.5 stars, I would. Too bad Goodreads doesn't have the 0.5 thing. Anyway, it's a fun fantasy romance to read. It's not too long and not too short. For romance fans, I'm not really sure you'll like this until the very end, since the romance here is a bit slow. Think, "The Scorpio Races" by Maggie Stiefvater. They both desperately want each other, but they don't do anything until they see that they're almost done.I myself would consider this a Medieval Fantasy, since it had kings and stuff. Fantasy because of the Ariane. So basically, this story is about tough woman warriors (Ariane) who fight for the king. And yeah, I don't think I can add anything else without spoiling. The thing I didn't like about this book was that it kind of lost me somewhere in the middle, but it's okay, since I quickly caught on again. Also, the summary. It's kind of spoiling! Other than that, fantastic cover, great story, and awesome title. Lark really reminded me of Graceling by Kristin Cashore's main character, Katsa, who is also a tough lady fighter. I find the stories a lot alike! Which is a good thing, since I'm absolutely in love with GRACELING.It is highly appropriate, no sex or anything like that. I think I would recommend it to 6th-11th graders! Depends on how avid you are with reading.Well, yeah! Thanks, Barb, for letting me read this! Here is my longer review: http://bookaholic-ness.blogspot.com/2012/09/book-review-larks-quest-by-barbara-cool.html
